Have you ever found yourself tearing up unexpectedly — at your desk, in a quiet bathroom stall, or during an intense moment in your gym workout?
If you’ve been there, you already know that those tears are not random. They carry something. And while the cause may often be rooted in the pressures of your professional life - deadlines, performance expectations, the grind - sometimes the emotional waves at work can come from somewhere else entirely.
Perhaps there’s something in your personal life - a relationship, a health concern, family stress, or just the sheer weight of everything that feels like it’s piling up. And while you may be emotionally intelligent enough to know the cause, it can still take us by surprise when those emotions show up during business hours.
And here's the thing: You’re not broken. You’re not unprofessional. Those tears are simply your body’s way of letting go, of making space for what you’ve been carrying, whether it’s work stress or the weight of life’s challenges.

A personal note from me
I'll be a little vulnerable here.
I remember many years ago, crying in the carpark outside work because I just didn't want to go inside. I remember crying in my office because pregnancy hormones combined with mental overload was just my body's way of processing and releasing. I remember crying in the bathroom at work because things just felt a bit much at that moment in time. And particularly over the last couple of years as I've been doing my own healing work, sometimes the tears just appear while I'm working out on the cross trainer at the gym as part of processing energy, for no particular reason!
As an Emotional Projector (Human Design Type and Authority - more on that in future posts...) I have come to understand that my emotional wave is inherently part of my being - I have my highs, and I also have my lower points of my day or days.
Going through the wave of the emotions is part of who I am. To be frank, I used to feel ashamed about how my body would show emotions, particularly crying, as a very external visible process, especially at work. However, through my study of Human Design I am becoming more accepting of the ways that my body processes experiences. Occasionally, crying is one of them! It does not represent weakness - it is actually the body doing exactly what it needs to do to release energy at that time. Pop your hand up if you always feel better after having a good cry, whether it's about an issue, a movie, or in response to some beautiful music or a heartwarming story? I know I do!
Personally, I am so grateful for the incredible modalities of the Emotion Code, Body Code, Belief Code and Angel Reiki as they have helped me so much in processing the weight of challenging experiences in life. It's from my own experiences of feeling improvement in my mental and emotional wellbeing that I gained my certifications in these modalities so I could help others.
As a long-seasoned professional, it would take a lot for me to be so vulnerable as to cry openly in an office as I just don't think as a society we are at that point of recognising the sometimes intense emotional waves of human experiences as part of a professional setting.
In our culture it's considered to be of low emotional intelligence to not regulate emotions such as crying, and it further reinforces the expectation to push emotions down and not allow them to be processed in the moment!
I can understand this to an extent - as no doubt working in environments where people's emotions are constantly all over the place gets tiring for others. I believe it's about finding ways to help your body process what it needs to release and to make emotional space to cope with experiences so you don't tip over into overflow mode in the first place.
This is where the Codes (Emotion, Body and Belief) shine. By releasing the energy from past experiences that may have become stuck in your body, you actually have more "available space on the hard-drive" to cope with and to process new challenging experiences that will come along.
Why I created Ember in Spring for moments like this
I created Ember in Spring for those of us who know why we’re feeling emotionally overwhelmed — but often don’t know how to move through it. Whether the source is professional stress or personal struggles that have bled into the workday, these emotions need a safe space to be acknowledged and released.
Sometimes, the weight of everything — work and life — can feel like too much to hold. Ember in Spring was designed for moments like this. It’s a space where you can honor both the work-related stress and the personal challenges that inevitably flow into our work hours. Here, you can finally release what you’ve been carrying.
What Is Ember in Spring?
Ember in Spring is an intuitive healing method designed to support your emotional and energetic release, not only in relation to your work stress but also when personal life challenges spill over into your professional world. It helps you honor your emotional experience, whether it’s from the workplace or your personal life, and offers a way to gently release that emotional build-up.
Here’s what Ember in Spring offers:
🌸 The Emotion Code
This tool helps release trapped emotions, whether they come from childhood experiences, professional struggles, or personal events. These trapped emotions can build up, even from things outside of work, creating physical and emotional stress.
🌸 The Belief Code
We all carry subconscious beliefs that influence how we deal with stress. Even when you know what’s causing your tears, deep-seated beliefs like:
“I have to keep it together.”
“Rest means I’m falling behind.”
“I can’t show emotion at work.”
...may still be running the show. Ember in Spring helps gently shift these limiting beliefs, whether the stress is work-related or rooted in something personal.
🌸 The Body Code
This method helps realign your body and energy, clearing physical and emotional imbalances — whether caused by stress at work or life outside of work — and restoring resilience and balance.
🌸 Angel Reiki
A calming, spiritual energy practice that brings support from a higher source, helping you feel held and supported even during difficult times, whether they stem from work or personal life.
After a session of Ember in Spring, you'll feel lighter, more centered, and more empowered to handle stress and emotions. You'll have a renewed sense of clarity, emotional release, and the resilience to move forward, whether you're navigating work challenges or personal transitions.
Why does crying at work matter?
The tears you experience at work are not random. Whether triggered by stress from your job or by personal matters that are hard to leave at the door, your body knows it needs to release. And even if you’re aware of the cause, that doesn’t make it any less important to honor the emotional release.
It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. It’s okay to have personal emotions flow into your professional life. What matters is giving yourself permission to release those emotions — whether you understand the cause or not.
You don’t need to push through. You need space to breathe, to heal, and to let go.
I know it’s not always easy to navigate the emotional overlap between work and personal life. We are taught to compartmentalise, to keep things separate. But the truth is, we are whole people. And those personal challenges - the ones that stay with us even when we’re in the office - can affect us just as much as work stress.
To make space for those experiences that may just tip us over the edge into an uncontrollable release of tears unexpectedly, Ember in Spring offers subconscious energy healing support through times of transition and challenge.
Whether your tears are linked to work or to life outside of work, Ember in Spring was created for exactly this moment — when you know why you’re feeling emotional, but need space to process and release it without judgment.
If this resonates with you, I want you to know: you’re not alone. You don’t need to carry it all by yourself. There is space here for your exhaustion, for your healing, and for the release of whatever you’ve been holding — whether it’s work or life stress.
